Jonathan Schriber
Jonathan Schriber first started studying Martial Arts in the late 70’s early 80’s. He first started Studied Taekwondo with Master Duk Son and earned his 2nd Degree Black Belt in the mid 80’s. He also studied “Iado”, Japanese Sword Fighting and also hold a 3rd Degree Black Belt in this system. Shortly after learning these art, he found his first Kung Fu teacher, Grand Master Tony Chuy. He began Studying Northern Praying Mantis in the mid 80’s, and was GM Chuy’s first 6 students.
Soon enough Life got in the way and he had to choose between learning Martial Arts or a Life Career, and of course career was very important. So he left the martial art world for some time and finally in 2009 he found Sifu Orachan. He first began learning Northern Praying Mantis to re-kinder his pass. Within a year, he realized that Yang Tai Chi may be a better path for him. He then began to start learning Yang Tai Chi Chuan with Sifu Orachan, and now has reached Advanced Level. He continues to study with Sifu Orachan, and in 2016 he began to study Chen Tai Chi with Sifu Cheuk Ho Kwong.
Benjamin Trent
Benjamin Trent began his martial arts training in 1987 and became a certified instructor and tournament judge in 1995. He specializes in teaching youth as young as 3-years-old, point sparring, and dynamic kicking. In 2015, he was named an 12th generation disciple and assistant instructor under Master Gun Orachantara in Praying Mantis Kung Fu. He holds a 3rd degree black belt in the Korean form of karate known as Tang Soo Do and has also studied Judo, Hapkido, Brazilian Jujitsu, Okinawan Kobudo, Hung Gar, and Yang Style Tai Chi. He has taught numerous seminars at martial arts clinics, schools and universities on women’s self-defense and establishing a bully safe zone. His first martial arts instructor stressed the importance of active volunteering in our communities and Mr. Trent continues this philosophy to this day with his volunteer work. Over the years, he has taught hundreds of students both in the inner-city and in the suburbs and has encouraged them to become good and responsible citizens. He has also competed and placed in numerous regional and national tournaments over the years.
